Deathtrap

I recently set out to photograph constructions of concrete post-socialist realism, but I encountered an unexpected life drama. On the seventeenth floor of a high-rise building, the owner of an apartment had installed a safety net on the balcony. The idea is clear: to protect a pet, such as a cat, from reckless jumps in pursuit of birds. But the net played a cruel trick - it became a trap for a pigeon.
At first, I heard strange sounds. I couldn't see very well from below, so I thought it was just a plastic bag dangling in the wind. But when I looked closer, I saw a bird fluttering.
I tried to call the intercom. Got the neighbors downstairs. They said they got the wrong doorbell and they heard the bird too. But they couldn't go upstairs and talk to the neighbor.
Fortunately, a man came out of the house to whom I explained the situation, and looking at the balcony with the unfortunate bird, he exclaimed - yes, this is my friend's balcony! He took out his cell phone, called immediately, and within a minute the owner of the apartment appeared on the balcony. A few more minutes - and the pigeon was released into the wild.
I went home with a sense of accomplishment and photos for the blog.
